We had the good fortune to rent Sage Leaf Cabin for a December to April ski lease last winter, and our stay was exceptional! Our little family, including our young child and dog, loved being there. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood, a few blocks from National Forest trails that are convenient for taking the dog out. The cabin is clean, cozy and inviting: think modern, Scandinavian-inspired decor meets Tahoe mountain charm. There is a spacious, fully-fenced backyard shaded by towering Ponderosa Pines. The cabin is well-appointed with everything you might need, such as a washer and dryer, humidifier, warm wool throws, first aid kit, and paper towels and other supplies. We appreciated the additional thoughtful touches to help us feel welcome, such as art supplies and children’s books for our child, and food and water bowls for the dog. Christine and Bernie are warm, responsive hosts, and it was easy to communicate with them. We are very impressed with Christine and Bernie’s hospitality and highly recommend staying at the Sage Leaf Cabin. We can’t wait to come back!

We had the fortune of staying at the Sage Leaf Cabin for 3 months during the winter, and it was truly perfect. The house was extremely well-furnished and had everything we needed to feel at home. Everything was much higher quality than a typical rental, which we were so grateful for. Bernie and Christine were also the most amazing hosts, and were quick to respond whenever we needed them. We cannot wait to stay there again in the future!

Sage Leaf Cabin is a lovely place to stay in the South Lake Tahoe area. The house is cozy, but not cramped, wonderfully appointed with eco-friendly and organic items, and very well stocked. Everything feels well thought out and is of high quality. Christine and Bernie are excellent communicators and quick to respond and always friendly. The location is great, just a bit outside of South Lake itself, but only a quick 10-15 minute drive to get to downtown South Lake with easy access to Heavenly Ski Resort, amongst others. The neighborhood is quiet and safe but convenient. I cannot speak highly enough about my time here and am looking forward to returning.

We previously lived on the first floor of an 1896 Chicago two-flat and rented the top floor to long-term (5+ years) and short-term renters. Airbnb picked us as a Plus home, a selection of “the highest quality homes with hosts known for great reviews and attention to detail.” You can view those reviews, and learn more about your hosts and our commitment to making your stay memorable.

The skis on the wall were our attempt to bring Tahoe to the Midwest (yep, we know).
